7 Steps to Getting Ready for Mercury Filling Removal

Do you still have mercury amalgam fillings in your mouth? You have probably heard that they are linked to many conditions like depression, chronic fatigue, thyroid problems, food allergies and yeast conditions, to just name a few…

You may say that your mercury fillings are not causing you any trouble, which is great, but don’t wait until you have symptoms to have them removed. Removing the mercury fillings will cause them to release even more mercury, so it is better to do it when you are in good shape and properly prepared.

For many toxic substances no symptoms are notices until a critical level is reached or you are compromised in other ways, like through great emotional stress. Mercury leaves the tooth as a vapor when you eat, drink and brush your teeth, and it enters and accumulates in your body.

But don’t rush out now to have your fillings removed immediately. It is important that you find the right dentist to do the job and take the time to prime your body before removing these toxic fillings. Even if you think you have no mercury fillings left, it may be worthwhile to visit a biological dentist to make sure all of it is actually gone.

1. Find the Right Dentist for the Job

To find a mercury free or biological dentist, ask around or search through any of these organizations:

Understanding the Tonik Health Plan Deductible

Let’s check out deductibles in Tonik health insurance plans first since that is such an important part of any health plan. A deductible is an amount that you must pay first for certain benefits before the carrier starts to kick in.

For example, if you blow your knee out and it’s $15,000 to repair (which isn’t too far off) and your Tonik health plan has a $1500 deductible, you will need to pay the first $1500 of that $15,000 bill towards your deductible.

How in-network affects the deductible

The Tonik health plans are PPO plans. This means you can use any doctor but you will pay much less out of pocket when you use providers that are in Tonik’s PPO network. You can check the the doctor network online to make sure your doctor or local hospital of choice is part of the network. In a true emergency (be real careful about this), Tonik will likely not hold you to a network but always try to use in-network providers anyway. Your definition of emergency may be different than the carrier’s so you want to be careful. (more…)

Diet Coke Launches a Nail Polish Line

Since when did Diet Coke and fashion come into the mix? Well now that I think about it, it wasn’t too long ago when Karl Lagerfeld did a campaign for Coca Cola Lite with his own signature bottle.

The Coca Cola company has made a deal with Nails Inc to create Diet Coke City Collection. The line is inspired by the fashion capitals of the world such as London, New York, Milan and Paris but here’s the best part…the nail polishes will be given away totally free! Ya heard me!

With every purchase of two 500ml Diet Coke bottles you can snatch up the 4-piece collection for free. There is a downside though. Apparently this offer is at Boots which is in London. Bummer!

The 4-piece collection comes in:

  • London-nude hue
  • Paris- Deep purple
  • Milan- red hue
  • New York- bright fuschia pink

Stop Snoring Naturally

If you have been snoring for a while now, then perhaps you should look into a permanent snoring cure because persistent and long term snoring can be hazardous to you and your partner’s health! Thus you really owe it to yourself and those around you to quickly locate a snoring cure. Snoring at a minimal level is actually acceptable, however when it escalates to consistent and persistent snoring, you should really start acting on it.

That said, you do not really need to further complicate your snoring cures than it needs be, sometimes by changing certain habits you can actually cure your snoring problem. One of such example is your sleeping position, it has been found that sleeping on your back promotes your chances of snoring, and if you know you snores, then perhaps you can try sleeping on your side instead. However, many will find it difficult to switch and stay in that position throughout the night, this is where you can use the tennis ball trick in your back pocket to help locking you in a fix position throughout the night.

One of the main reasons why we snore is because of our air intake at night, more specifically the lack of continuous and smooth air flow intake. This is really the main cause of snoring, when we do not have enough air flow intake throughout the night due to a blockage somewhere in our nasal pathway, we naturally compensate the lack of oxygen by using our mouth to breath instead, and thus causing the undesirable noise throughout the night. 2 Versus 1 Muscle Routines

The gym is my personal sanctuary, and weights are my prayer of choice. On a serious note, I really enjoy working out and my life isn’t the same without the gym in my life. The benefits of lifting weights are many, and my regular use of the gym improves my life in many aspects. I’m stronger, I have more energy, and it makes me a happier person overall.

When I lift weights, I usually follow a pretty consistent workout routine. You might do the same if you use a gym. Like many, I wondered for a long time whether my workouts should target one muscle or two muscles each time I go.

The best way to determine the answer to anything is to test each possibility. This is what I’ve done in the past, as I tried many different combos. (more…)

Ways To Whiten Your Teeth

To have your teeth whitened, you would usually have to go and visit a cosmetic dentist. Today, there seem to be more and more people that are opting to have this kind of treatment.

Because of this great influx of people wanting their teeth white, the industry has made great strides in making this process available for everybody. There are now many different brands of teeth whitener that anybody can purchase to do this treatment at home.

It is, however, imperative that you choose the right treatment so you do not harm your teeth. One idea would be to check your teeth sensitivity level before attempting this process. Many types of teeth whitener, however, are supposedly for all types of teeth, regardless of the sensitivity.

You also need to choose the right color for your needs. This may sound funny given that it is a teeth whitener , but there is a lot of effort on the dentist’s part in getting the right veneer or shade of crown to suit a patient.

At least if you had the cosmetic dentist to do this procedure for you, then you would not have to worry about shade issues.

That is not to say that the home whitening products are not as good. They may be of equal quality to those used by the dentists, but it could just take you a little bit longer to achieve the result you wanted. (more…)

Don’t Overdo Your Weight Loss Plan

After reading newspaper and magazine ads on weight loss – and also commercials on TV and the Internet, you might begin to think that losing weight is effortless. These ads tell you that you can “lose a pound a day,” “lose up to 18 pounds in two weeks,” and other amazing claims. After awhile, we might even begin to believe the ads. But are these expectations too high? Can we really believe these amazing results are possible?

Two professional organizations, the National Institutes of Health and the American College of Sports Medicine, claim that no more than two pounds of weight loss a week is safe. It’s a guideline that medical experts use for helping individuals maintain a balance of losing fat while preserving lean body mass – and also for maintaining proper hydration. Granted that 2 pounds loss a week seems minor, compared to what the weight loss commercials offer the public!

How does one sort through fantasy and truth? Well, first consider the amount of energy required to lose 10 pounds of fat. There are about 3,500 calories of stored energy in one pound of fat, so 10 pounds of fat is 35,000 calories of energy. Most people burn only about 100 calories walking or running a mile. So if you want to lose 10 pounds in a week, you’d have to run or walk 350 miles a week – or 50 miles every day. Of course, this assumes that you don’t change your eating habits during that week. Passive Smoking Affects Mental Health

Second hand smoke is not only bad for lungs and heart but it affects the mental health too.

To find out the link between secondhand smoke and mental health, researchers studied 5,560 non-smokers and 2,595 smoking adults from Scotland. None of the participants had any history of mental illness. The participants were tracked for six years. Exposure to secondhand smoke among non-smokers was determined using saliva levels of cotinine and is an established marker of nicotine exposure.

A total of 14.5 percent of participants reported distressed mental health. It was found that the higher a person’s secondhand smoke exposure, the greater their risk of mental health distress. While the risk was highest for people who were themselves smokers. People with high exposure to secondhand smoke who didn’t actually smoke themselves were 62 percent more likely to report mental health distress than those unexposed to secondhand smoke, while the risk for smokers was almost three times higher.
